AvantGuard, a Cornell University spinout developing antimicrobial solutions, has raised more than $10 million in funding since participating in the I-Corps regional and national programs. In addition to securing over $8 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, AvantGuard raised $2.85 million in an oversubscribed seed round in 2023. AvantGuard is based in Ithaca, employs 13 people in upstate New York, and has created jobs in rural areas across the country.
