Binghamton Startup Wins $21.2M NYDOT Contract to Build Cleaner, Cheaper Roads 1365 2048 I-Corps Hub: Interior Northeast

KLAW Industries, a startup based in Binghamton, NY, was selected by the New York State Department of Transportation to partner on a $21.2 million infrastructure project using their innovative material Pantheon™, a carbon-negative replacement for cement in concrete made from waste glass diverted from landfills. Founders Jacob Kumpon,
Jack Lamuraglia, and Tanner Wallis started KLAW Industries while still in college in Upstate NY and participated in regional and national I-Corps courses while building their startup. They have raised $1.36 million in non-dilutive grant and prize funding, including from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
with such highlights as taking the first place at the DOE Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize pitch competition.
